We finally woke up to our last day in Singapore. Although the last days on trips are typically supposed to have the most relaxed schedule, we agreed that since this last minute trip was quite short, we’d try our best to squeeze in activities we haven’t done and places we haven’t covered until we absolutely had no time left. After getting some breakfast, we went to the place where we had our phone fixed and it wasn’t ready yet, so we decided to just go back for it at the end of the day and just proceeded to our destination.

We took a bus going to the Singapore Cable Car Harbor Front. Once we arrived, we purchased tickets and hopped on a cable car headed to Sentosa Island. The cable car proved to be the most scenic way to Sentosa, giving a 360-degree view of the island as well as Universal Studios, Resorts World, and Mt. Faber. It was breath-taking; it’s not every day that we got to see a bird’s eye view of Singapore. We, then, arrived at Sentosa. Sentosa is a resort island that is full of exciting adventures for all ages, there are numerous diverse activities that can be done there. We went to see the Sentosa Merlion for a bit, and then proceeded to the Universal Studios.

Universal Studios is Southeast Asia’s first ever movie theme park. It is divided into zones that each has their very own theme based on a famous television show or a blockbuster film, all zones having their own characters, shops, restaurants, and rides. We strolled around the whole place for a while before finally lining up for one of the roller coaster rides, The Mummy. The ride was very suspenseful, tossing its riders around in pitch black darkness, having no idea what to expect next. My companion insisted that I cried on that ride (I, for one, did not cry. I merely got teary-eyed because… of the… wind pressure). The next ride we queued up for was Battlestar Galactica. It was set inside a studio, also extremely dark, giving off feels of being in outer space. The next ride we got on was the Transformers 4D ride; this particularly became my favorite one out of all the rides. It left me in awe how I was taken inside the Transformers universe seeing, hearing, and feeling everything in it like it was the real thing all while just staying in one room. After enjoying all those rides, we ate at a restaurant that had a mix of Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine before leaving the island.
After leaving Sentosa Island, we walked a very long walk towards Central Mall Singapore, to the Central Perk Café. Central Perk Café is a café themed after the famous American sitcom, Friends. As we were huge fans of the show, this blew our minds. It’s the only café licensed by Warner Brothers outside of the US. It boasts interiors that are identical to the coffee shop from the iconic couch where the main characters shared so many moments together to the bar where Gunther worked; no detail was spared in this recreation. Monica’s kitchen could also be seen in the corner, as well as replicas of iconic props and costumes on the show like Rachel’s runaway wedding dress, Joey and Chandler’s foosball table, and Phoebe’s horrifying artwork. We had some coolers that were named after the main characters of the show before heading back to our hotel.

When we got back to the hotel, we freshened up and packed our things, and checked out. We ate our last Chicken Rice dinner, picked up the phone we had fixed, and then headed to the airport to spend the rest of the night there while waiting for our flight home at dawn.
This finally closes the short yet eventful chapter that is Singapore. Truthfully, this trip didn’t go without some unexpected bumps on the road. But, all in all, it’s the good parts of it that will always remain memorable and special.
