Boracay

wintersoldieradven

For every mention of travelling to the Philippines or within it, Boracay is and will probably always be one of the top destinations for tourists. Located in the province of Aklan in the Philippines, with white sand beaches and a fully functioning commercial strip, it’s definitely no wonder why it seems to appeal to most people. Aside from its natural beauty, another thing sets Boracay apart is that it has something to offer to absolutely everyone. Whether you’re alone, with a loved one, with a group of friends, with family, whether you’re young or old, on a budget or travelling luxuriously, Boracay is a place you’re bound to enjoy. There are two ways to fly in which are either via Kalibo or Caticlan airport. It’s faster to get to Boracay via Caticlan airport, but the 2 hour ride from Kalibo isn’t that bad as well.

First order of business in every travel destination is the accommodation. This is what you’ll consider your home for the entire duration of your stay, so choosing wisely is essential. There are many beaches in Boracay that offer many options for accommodations, but if you want to be where it is most convenient, it’s wise to choose a place to stay within the White Beach area where you will find Stations 1, 2, and 3. This area is where you’ll find many of the key attractions in the island like malls and famous restaurants. It is also the best place to witness the beautiful Boracay sunset. If you’re looking for a convenient but quiet atmosphere to stay in, Station 1 has exactly that certain vibe of exclusivity. If you’re looking for the area where most of the crowd is at, that would be Station 2 or 3.

Second order of business is food. To be able to completely enjoy all the fun activities Boracay has to offer, it is important to keep yourself nourished and there’s no better energy fuel than food, am I right? The beachfronts are packed with different restaurants, as well as the mall. Granted that they are the most accessible, the price range might be a bit high. If you’re looking for meals that are more on the budget-friendly side, you just need to keep in mind that the farther from the beach a restaurant or eatery is; the cheaper it is bound to be. There is also an option to get fresh seafood from a place called D’Talipapa, located in Station 3, and have one of the surrounding eateries cook them for you for a fee.

Third order of business is the numerous fun activities. Island hopping is one of the most popular activities in most people’s to-do lists since it takes you to Puka Beach, Crystal Cove Island, and Crocodile Island. You also have the option to stop in the middle of the sea to a little snorkeling. Another popular activity is parasailing. There’s nothing like the adrenaline rush of taking off from a speedboat and soaring high enough to see the bird’s eye view of the island. Scuba diving in Boracay is also really fun. For first timers, there are packages that offer brief lessons and practices, along with the gear rent. Other fun activities include Paraw sailing, banana boat rides, stand up paddleboarding, and cliff diving.

Last order of business is the night life. Boracay has definitely made a name for itself as a go-to destination for island parties. There are several clubs and bars right at the beach front where you can mingle with crowds of different nationalities all coming together to have a good time. Boracay is also known for its pub crawls, which will allow you to go partying and club-hopping with other travelers and is inclusive of a guide and a professional photographer.

There is no denying that Boracay is definitely a top destination in the Philippines, regardless if you’re from here or not. It has a world-class vibe, especially with the hospitable locals who are always ready to help with anything. If you’re looking for a place that has it all, Boracay is the place to be.
